Hi, this is kiran aka deadmanswill. The interest in stars is very recent in me and I look forward to interacting with all active members of the club. Frankly I know nothing about the stars since, as I said, the interest is very new.
I took a look at google sky but didn't pursue further because I thought its better to learn the stars by looking directly than photographs of them. After all its free to gaze at the stars. Is there someone who could give me a basic overview on star watching. I intend to buy a beginner's telescope but it may take a while. Meanwhile there's an old but quite powerful binoculars and I am using them as of now. Would be glad to make some new acquaintances here. Cheers deadmanswill |

Dear All,
I am purushotham working for a corporate in Hyderabad.I had a special passion for astronomy when I was young(Haley's Comet days) but haven't nurtured it much. Now having understood that planets influence plant and human life my interest in astronomy was reborn. I have undergone training in Biodynamic farming where I had the opportunity to understand it better and now advice few like minded farmers on some of the principles and practices. I have a basic Celestron Powerseeker 50 telescope and gaze for the planets and satellites. Would like to volunteer for any astronomy events. You can reach me on 9849437812 or purushotham_23@yahoo.com |

I appreciate for frankly admitting that you know little about the sky.Its just not you there are many people ofcourse I am also one of them.
Our grand parents and the fishermen are the ones who know much about the sky. They know when the moon ascends or descends and also when is a ful moon or a new moon without even looking at the calendar. I am spending almost 2-3 hours a day trying to gaze the sky with my not so sophisticated 50X powerseeker Telescope and with the help of 'The Sky software' I am trying to understand the planets and their satellites.Last week I had the occassion to watch the beautiful moon. Not only me my son serendeep who is just 8 yrs old also has developed a lot interest in sky watching. I would also request the members to share their experiences and observation of the sky. Also I would be glad if someone can recommend to me an expert in Night sky watching so that I can request him to make a presentation to our office colleagues. |
