Default NASA Suggests Safe Methods to view Solar Eclipse - Solar Filters one among them.

Safe watching of Solar Eclipse, is very important, and there are various methods suggested by NASA - Here is the excerpt for " Eye Safety during Solar Eclipses " published in the page :

http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEhelp/safety.html

"The Sun can be viewed directly only when using filters specifically designed for this purpose. Such filters usually have a thin layer of aluminum, chromium or silver deposited on their surfaces that attenuates ultraviolet, visible, and infrared energy."

SUNVIEW - Solar Filters fitted in Eclipse Goggles are specifically designed for viewing the Sun during Solar Eclipse, and are considered safe. The Solar filters have been quite popular worldwide during VENUS TRANSIT 2004, and thousands of Astronomy enthusiasts, witnessed the Venus Transit safely on June 8, 2004 with SUNVIEW Solar Filters, which was acknowledge by the Official and Authorized website on Venus Transit :

One can see even now the above website carrying the image of the Product SUNVIEW - Solar Filters, since 2004. Being a non-profit website, they do not endorse any product, hence suggest the viewers to take their own caution, while buying any Solar Filters.
However One should compulsory see that, the product, does not have any "pinholes" on the film. This you can check immediately while buying the filters. Hold the filters to your eyes, and view a bulb or a bright light, if there are any pinholes, the light passes through. If you find pitch dark, while holding the filters on your eyes, that means, the product is perfect ( without any pinholes ).
